Elder Community Service – Community Events

The following community events are requests that come to Mr. Forman and qualify for community service hours.  These are not Elder-related events, so you will need to find your own transportation and have the person in charge serve as the Supervisor that you enter in MobileServe.

SHP CINCY M/I HOMES & PLS BED BUILD

Help us build bed for kids in need in Cincinnati at our bed build event with M/I Home and Payton’s Lemonade Stand!  The event will take place in Mason at 9349 Waterstone Blvd Suite 190, Cincinnati, OH 45249.

CROSSTOWN PACKOUT

Crosstown Packout brings high school students from across Cincinnati together for a day of service, community, and impact as they pack high-protein meals for children in need. Registration is $65 per student and helps cover the cost of meal-packing materials, lunch, and an event T-shirt.

NOTE: Elder has a limited number of scholarships to pay for $50 of your entry fee. Email Mr. Forman if interested.

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
The Jeff Weber Always Lifting Spirits Foundation was founded in 2014 to honor Jeff Weber, a Cincinnati resident, Elder class of 1983, who died at the age of 48 after a year-long struggle with Lou Gehrig Disease (ALS).  Our foundation is a charitable 501(c)3 created to assist ALS patients by providing lift chairs to those with the disease.  Lift chairs provide patients who have limited ambulatory skills a respite from a wheelchair and helps their caretaker assist with daily needs.

VOLUNTEER NEEDS
Selling Split-The Pot, Basket Raffle Chances, Football Squares, Beads for Bead game, Set-up, Clean-up.

WEST SIDE EXCHANGE

The Westside Exchange is a new creative community workspace opening in Cheviot this fall. On Saturday, September 12, they will be getting the space ready by painting, assembling furniture, organizing, and tackling other setup projects.  They could use some help!
